ACANTHUS
nichole mciver did not dream of becoming a jewelry designer. it has been a passion that she recently discovered, but looking back, maybe has been many years in the making. though she majored in art, nichole did not envision herself selling her paintings or drawings in galleries. she ended up focusing on art history and fell in love with cultures of the past and the way amazing works of art that were also functional pieces in people's daily lives. in particular, female artists and the personal objects and artwork of women such as prayer books, portraits, and jewelry. starting her own jewelry line allows her to create and hand-craft her own elegant and feminine pieces that feel like they have a long history behind them.
